I have an innate passion for journeying with children and families through their grief, as well as empowering the professionals who support them. My desire to promote resilience in those grieving a death evolved from both witnessing profound growth in people bearing unthinkable pain, as well as experiencing such growth following my own losses.

I have worked in pediatric palliative and hospice care as well as bereavement support. Most recently, I was the Clinical Director at The Healing Center, a grief center in Seattle. I also interned at The Dougy Center in Portland, Oregon.

My education includes a BA in psychology, a MS in child life, and an MSW. My professional affiliations include The Association for Death Education and Counseling, The Association of Child Life Professionals, and the National Association of Social Workers. In addition to my role as Executive Director at Our TreeHouse, I have a private counseling practice in Bellingham.

I am thrilled to join the Our TreeHouse community!

For 15 years, I served as Executive Director, Artistic Director and Education Director for The Neighborhood Playhouse -- Bellingham’s Theatre for Young Audiences. The transition from entertaining children to supporting them in their grief has been an important life-changing experience for me. I am in my element when managing our Family Night, where there are many activities going on at once, all serving grieving children in some form or another.

I have volunteered at Camp Erin for over six years and at Hospices facilitating grief support groups with teens and their guardians. I have a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology, and am currently working on my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling at Western Washington University. After a year of volunteering with Our TreeHouse, I am grateful to hold a safe space for teens where they are not alone in their grief, but rather supported by a community who understands them. This special program fills my heart with love.
