My career has been in non-profit management, supporting adults with developmental disabilities, people with AIDS, and with marginalized youth. I have also been a hospice volunteer for Whatcom Hospice. My Dad died when I was 13 years old and I wonder how my life would have been different if a place like Our TreeHouse was available to me. Joining Our TreeHouse is the perfect fit for me. I am honored to work here.

For 15 years, I served as Executive Director, Artistic Director and Education Director for The Neighborhood Playhouse -- Bellingham’s Theatre for Young Audiences. The transition from entertaining children to supporting them in their grief has been an important life-changing experience for me. I am in my element when managing our Family Night, where there are many activities going on at once, all serving grieving children in some form or another.

I have volunteered at Camp Erin for over five years and at Hospices facilitating grief support groups with teens and their guardians. I study Psychology at Western Washington University where I am a part of the campus Family Lab. After a year of volunteering with Our TreeHouse, I am grateful to hold a safe space for teens where they are not alone in their grief, but rather supported by a community who understands them. This special program fills my heart with love.
